I was tasked with conducting research alongside my professor, Ehsan Naderi, for the University of Minnesota, College of Design. We conducted this study to discover how a user’s perception and evaluation of a product change depending on how the product is presented. In this study, I conduct quantitative and qualitative research to evaluate the presentation formats of 2D orthographic views and 3D simulated format (360 rotation).
I found that users have a better understanding of product usefulness, ease-of- use, and aesthetics when looking at 2-D orthographic views rather than 3-D simulated format (360 rotation).
I presented the research at 2 conferences and received the 3rd place award at the Web3D 2020 virtual conference.
